7 AMAZING MASCARAS FOR SHORT EYELASHES

1. DIORSHOW BLACK OUT MASCARA

This mascara has such a rich, creamy formula that it instantly lengthens lashes. The large brush helps to add volume to make lashes appear fuller. Make sure you choose Diorshow Black Out Mascara as opposed to just diorshow mascara because it has a gorgeous inky, black color that is deeper than that of any other mascara I have tried!

2. GIVENCHY PHENOMEN’EYES MASCARA

When this mascara first came out, I had to have it simply for the amazing wand! The tip of the wand is in the shape of a round sphere and is designed to grab lashes starting at the root for length and volume. This wand along with the mascara formula gives the lashes a nice curve and a fanned out appearance without having to use a lash curler.

3. HOURGLASS SUPERFICIAL LASH This lightweight mascara lengthens and volumizes without feeling or look clumpy! It has a precision shaped wand that is narrower at the tip to help cover each and every lash in mascara.

 4. YVES SAINT LAURENT EXAGGERATED LASHES Not only does this waterproof mascara come in a pretty gold tube, but it also provides exaggerated length to your lashes! The wand has a spiral throughout to aid in the application of the mascara and add length and curl to the lashes.

5. LANCOME HYPNOSE DOLL LASHES

This amazing mascara formulation gives you volumized, lengthened, and lifted lashes with just one coat! It is one of my all-time favorite mascaras and comes in my favorite color, purple, as well as black. This mascara gives you a wide-eyed, doll-like look and includes Lancome’s FiberShine technology to sculpt and curl every i  lash.

TIPS FOR CONCEALING ACNE SCARS

1. TAKE GREAT CARE OF YOUR SKIN

Prevention should always be the goal, but pimples and blemishes are often unavoidable. It’s important to have a thorough skin care regimen that you follow every morning and night. At the very minimum, you should cleanse and moisturize your skin twice daily. Make sure to remove your makeup before cleansing at night; otherwise, washing your face with cleanser will only remove the makeup and not actually cleanse the skin. I lash

2. PREP THE SKIN

You should always apply makeup to clean, moisturized skin. To enhance the appearance of your makeup and increase its staying power, apply a makeup primer before putting on your makeup. Primers have a silicone base that helps fill in lines and evens out the surface texture of the skin.
3. CHOOSE THE RIGHT COLOR OF CONCEALER
Choosing a concealer that does not properly match your skin tone will only make the acne scar or blemish stand out more. You want to choose a shade of concealer that is the most similar to that of your natural skin color. If you can’t find an exact match, 1 shade lighter than your natural color is the next best choice.
4. APPLY CONCEALER SPARINGLY
Applying too much concealer can make acne scars more visible or cause the makeup to look cakey. Apply just enough to spread a light layer over the area you need to conceal. Remember that you can always add more, but it’s more difficult to take away what you’ve already applied. J
5. APPLY CONCEALER WITH YOUR FINGERTIPS
My favorite way to apply concealer on myself is to use my fingertips. I like to use creamy concealers, so applying them with your fingertips helps warm the product so that it goes on more easily. Your ring finger applies the perfect amount of pressure for applying concealer — less pressure than that of your pointer finger, but more than your pinky finger.
6. APPLY FOUNDATION FIRST
I have found the most effective way to conceal acne scars is to first apply your foundation and then follow with concealer. When I apply concealer before my foundation, I tend to wipe away a lot of the concealer with my foundation brush or sponge. This causes me to use more product, because I always have to go back and apply more concealer.
7. SET CONCEALER WITH POWDER
For ultimate staying powder and concealment, always set your foundation and concealer with a powder. Powder keeps everything in place and allows it to last throughout the day

FOUNDATION TIPS TO COVER OUR FRECKLES

1. START WITH CONCEALER

First and foremost, you want to start learning how to cover freckles up by using a bit of concealer. You can actually dab this all over your freckles with a sponge or even your ring finger, blending in very well.

2. FIND THE RIGHT SHADE OF FOUNDATION
When you are looking for foundation to learn how to cover up freckles, you’ve got to make sure that you find the right shade. You want a shade that matches your skin tone completely. After all of your concealer is on, then you’ll want to take a sponge and put on your foundation, blending everything together.
3. POWDER IT UP
Once you have applied the concealer and foundation, the next step on how to cover freckles is to use some powder! Powder is a great way to conceal everything and to truly lock in your makeup. Remember though, you want to choose a powder that either matches your skin tone or a translucent powder, so you’ll have a lovely glow.
4. A LITTLE BRONZER
While you might be learning exactly how to cover freckles, you do still want to keep that summer glow about your skin. That’s what bronzer is all about! Bronzer can also make your freckles disappear completely, so nobody will be able to tell that you even have any. I lash
5. ADD SOME BLUSH
Another step is to pump up your blush! Adding a bit of blush to your look can completely change it! It really brings out your eyes and ensures that you look completely natural. With the blush, you want to find a color that works for your skin tone, that is the most important part!
6. AVOID BEING CAKEY
While you might think that adding all of this makeup is a lot to just cover up your freckles, you’ve got to make sure that you are avoiding caking up your skin. The cakey look is not attractive and it isn’t natural at all! How do you avoid being cakey? Maybe use a powder that is light and airy, along with just a few swipes of bronzer and blush. J

MAKEUP WITHOUT A SMOKY EYE

1. WASH OF COLOR

A very hot makeup look that looks good anytime is a wash of color on the eyelids and lower lash line. Instead of always going for deep, dark colors, switch things up by adding color! Try soft shades of classic purple, blue, green or bronzy colors and sweep it across your eyelid and on your lower lash line. Let the one main color be the focal point of your eyes and add some mascara to the top and bottom lashes

2. WILD EYES

A no-smoky eye look doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with eye liner! You don’t have to use liquid eyeliner solely for creating a boring line. While lined eyes can look mysterious and look hot on just about all eye shapes, you can do so much more!
3. HOT LIPS
Hot makeup looks don’t always have to be about the eyes. Try leaving your eyes bare or bare-looking with just foundation, powder and a natural-looking eye shadow. Groom your brows and let your lips do all the talking with a bright red or your favorite bright colored shade on your lips.

4. COLORFUL CAT EYE

Create a cool and colorful look with this unsmoky eye! Ditch the dark liquid, gel or pencil liner for bright eye liners and mascara to create a colorful cat eye. This look was hot on the runways but the colorful dot on the lower  I lash line as seen by Anna Sui models is up to you!

5. ELECTRIC EYES

Another hot makeup look to try out is to use the coloredmascara from the colorful cat eye look and wear nothing but bright mascara on your eyes. Look for blue, teal, purple or green and let your lashes take center stage!

6. VAMPY LIPS

Another one of the hot makeup looks that is comparable to the hot lips look is a vampy, deep red lip with low key eye makeup. This look has been around for awhile but the scarlet lips look just as sexy as the first time I saw this classic look! Keep eye makeup simple and fresh with just black mascara on the top and bottom lashes and apply a deep red to the lips.

EYE MAKEUP TECHNIQUES TO LEARN

1. BASE

That´s probably because you´re not providing a base for the colour. What is needed is one of two things. Either use a primer, or apply a tiny amount of your foundation to your eyelids. This way, the shadow has a base to stick to.
2. SHADING
Shading is an essential eye makeup technique, and perhaps one of the trickiest. The difficulty comes with knowing what type of eyes you have – for example, if they are deep-set – and learning how to work with that. Try the above tutorial to help you.
3. BLENDING

Unless you want to look like a badger, learning how to blend is another eye makeup technique you need to pick up, especially when using different shades. It´s important to have the correct brushes in order to be able to blend properly.

4. MASCARA

Mascara should be one of the easiest eye makeup techniques, yet most women struggle to apply it. Invariably we get globs of mascara in our eye, and smudge it once it´s finally applied to our satisfaction.
i lashes   Here is a fantastic tutorial that shows you simply and quickly how to get perfect lashes
 SMOKY EYES.5

Smokey eyes are always in vogue when it comes to a stunning evening look. But what do you do if, when you try this technique, you always manage to end up looking like you´ve given yourself a black eye?

6. EYE SHAPE

As I´ve mentioned above, the shape of your eyes can influence the makeup techniques you use. Are you unsure what type of eyes you have (aside from blue or brown!), or how to make them look their best?

FUN LIPSTICK COLORS TO MAKE A STATEMENT

1. LIME CRIME LIPSTICK IN CHINCHILLA

It’s a perfectly neutral shade of gray that is flattering on all skin tones. It’s a great standard, neutral color. I suggest pairing it with bold eye makeup and possibly adding a bit of shiny gloss on top to amp up your look
2. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE COSMETICS LIP TAR IN TRAFFIC
This fun lipstick color will definitely require some confidence to pull it off, but it is a statement maker for sure! Yellow is a great color to wear during the summer when bright colors are popular.

3. MAKE UP FOR EVER ROUGE ARTIST INTENSE LIPSTICK IN PEARLY DARK VIOLET

This fun lipstick color by Make Up For Ever is one of my all-time favorites. I wear it when I want a bold, dramatic lipstick. It looks great with silvery-gray eye makeup and cat eyeliner. i lash

4. MAC COSMETICS SHEEN SUPREME LIPSTICK IN ASIAN FLOWER

This fun lipstick color was my go-to shade this past summer; in fact, I used up two tubes of it within 3 months’ time (so maybe I over-apply)! It’s a lovely lavender shade that looks great on everyone. I like to wear it as my day-to-day lipstick for a subtle yet statement making look.
5. LIME CRIME CAROUSEL GLOSS IN GOLDEN TICKET
Talk about making a statement! This metallic gold lip gloss is bold and dramatic. This fun lipstick shade is definitely not for the faint of heart! This gloss is great, because it goes on smoothly and is not  lashes sticky. Wear it out dancing or to your favorite concert, and be prepared for envious stares!

MUST-KNOW TIPS FOR CHOOSING MAKEUP

1. KNOW YOUR PALETTE

Certain colors looks best with certain skin tones and eye colors, so it’s important to know which colors form your own personal “palette.” For example, girls with green eyes should wear plum eye makeup, while brown eye makeup makes blue eyes pop.
2. TRY BEFORE YOU BUY
Most makeup counters have a special area set up for testing their products, so take advantage of this! Lash
3. SEE IT IN SUNLIGHT
walk outside and see how it looks in natural sunlight! The lighting in department stores (and even in Sephora) is completely different than the lighting outside, so unless you plan to only wear your makeup indoors, go outside and see how it looks, too!
4. OPEN CAREFULLY!
Most makeup counters and even drugstores will allow you to test makeup at home, and return it if you don’t like it. It’s important to open the packaging carefully, and to save the box or wrapper the makeup came in, to make returns easy. I lash
5. KEEP THE RECEIPT
Again, even if you’re not planning to return your makeup, be sure to keep your receipt! It will help at the end of the year when you’re making your budget for next year (how much did you spend on MAC eyeliner in 2012?) or if you have to make a return.
6. IF YOU DON’T LOVE IT
Sweetie, if you don’t love it in the store, you’re not going to love it at home, and you’re surely not going to ever wear it, so don’t buy it! Don’t settle for a shade of red lippie that doesn’t make your heart race… there are so many to choose from, so be patient, and keep shopping!

GORGEOUS FALL MAKEUP TRENDS TO FOLLOW

1. WINE-STAINED LIPS

Deep reds, burgundies, plums, and mulberries graced the lips of models from Gucci, Rochas, Givenchy, and many other fashion houses this fall. It may seem scary to apply such a bold lip color, but pair it with a neutral eye and cheek makeup and you will have a balanced makeup look that is on-trend for fall.
2. GRAPHIC BLACK EYELINER
Graphic black eyeliner will really make your eyes a statement. Putting emphasis on your eyes with graphic black eyeliner will give you a sultry, sexy look. This look was all the rage on the runways at Lanvin this fall.
3. BOLD BROWS
Gone are the thin, over-tweezed eyebrows! Bold brows made a strong comeback this fall. They were seen on the catwalks of Alexander Wang, Derek Lam, Jil Sander and Altuzarra. So throw out your tweezers and let your brows go au natural to frame your gorgeous fall eye makeup.
4.MONOCHROMATIC, NUDE FACES

A simple yet striking fall makeup trend is a nude, monochromatic face. To achieve this look choose a rosy pink to apply to your eyes, cheeks, and lips. I like to use one that is similar in color to that of my natural lip color. i lash

5. BROWN SMOKY EYES

I know most of us think black when we hear the term smoky eye, but this fall the smoky eye is going brown! Burberry Prorsum rocked this look at their fall fashion show. One of my favorite ways to achieve this fall makeup trend is to use my bronzer as eyeshadow.
6. FLUSHED CHEEKS
Although there is a fine line between flushed cheeks and clownish, old lady rouge, there is actually a line. To avoid looking clownish, opt for a peach shade of blush rather than pink. Apply it liberally onto the cheekbones, and blend well lashes.

8 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MASCARA BRUSHES

1. THE WAND

So you’ve probably seen in all kinds of different mascaras, the brushes that are just at the tip and are shaped like a ball. These are actually wand brushes and they are super innovative and work great! These pea-sized bristle balls will grab up any and all lashes from every corner and will enhance them beautifully!

2. NATURAL BRUSH

With all of the different mascara brushes out there, which ones are going to make your lashes really stand out? Well, for me, I love all of them, but when I am really looking to go with a natural look, instead of dramatic,

3. CLASSIC BRUSH

Another mascara brush that is one of my favorites is the classic brush. This brush is great for beginners and in Great Lash by Maybelline – this is the brush to learn on! It’s not too dense, it’s not going to keep all kinds of mascara formula on it and it’s easy to use! If you are just learning how to use mascara

4. LONG & SHORT BRUSH

The cool thing about this particular mascara brush is the fact that it was designed to catch any and all lashes that you have, while making sure that they are lengthened and beautiful!  I lash

5. HOUR GLASS BRUSH

The hour glass mascara brush is absolutely one of my favorite brushes! Not only does it give your lashes volume and lift, but it’s also a great way to allow your lashes to get thick and beautifully coated.lashes
6. RUBBER BRISTLE BRUSH
Rubber bristle brushes might not be my favorite, but that’s only because I am partial to nylon, but these brushes can come in handy when you have really sensitive eyes and eyelashes.
7. DENSELY PACKED BRUSH
Now, if you are looking for tons of volume, tons of mascara and a ton of length, the densely packed mascara brush is the one for you!

TIPS FOR APPLYING LIQUID FOUNDATION

1. PREP AND PRIME

Any kind of foundation can look flaky and uneven if applied to dry skin. When looking at how to apply liquid foundation, make sure your skin is moisturised and try using a primer beforehand to create a smooth base.
2. GET THE COLOUR RIGHT
This may seem like a no-brainer but you’d be surprised at how many people are wearing the wrong coloured foundation! Wearing the wrong shade for your skin tone can be a dead give away that you’re wearing makeup.
3. KEEP IT CLEAN
This tip for how to apply liquid foundation may seem like a given, but it’s a step that’s worth reiterating! Always use clean tools to apply your liquid foundation, whether they are your fingers, sponge applicators, or makeup brushes. i lash
4. APPLY IN AREAS
When looking at how to apply liquid foundation, distribute it evenly by dotting on small amounts on different areas of your face – your cheeks, chin, and forehead. Use the back of your hand as a palette to pour a small amount of foundation on and then using your fingers, a sponge, or makeup brush, dab the foundation on to your face.
5. BLEND WELL
Nothing looks more unnatural then when you can see a line between your foundation and your actual skin colour. Avoid this look by making sure you blend your foundation in well lashes

5 MAKEUP MISTAKES THAT AGE YOU

1. CAKED ON CONCEALER

One of the most common makeup mistakes that age you, can come from putting on too much concealer. If your concealer looks totally cakey on your skin and makes your skin appear not natural, than that’s a total makeup mistake! A solution to this is making sure that your concealer is light and airy, instead of thick and cakey!

2. RUNNY MASCARA

Sometimes, you can’t control your runny mascara. It could be a case of your mascara getting wet somehow. A lot of women do not actually check their mascara before they leave, so they could have some smudges and little black lines. Girls, you always want to make sure that you are checking every single bit of your face before you leave, that way you can make sure that your mascara is in the right place! lash

3. BLOOD RED LIPS

While red lips can look fantastic for most seasons, you want to be careful with which red you are choosing. You don’t want to choose a red that is super blood red or a red that is going to be too dark for your skin tone.

4. SUNKEN IN CHEEKS

With blush and bronzer tricks, it can be super easy for you to actually make your cheeks appear sunken in. This isn’t a look that you want ladies! Instead, make sure that you know exactly how to get rid of that sunken in look!

5. TOO THIN BROWS

Another common makeup mistake that age you can actually be plucking your brows too thin and creating that ‘surprised’ look. This can actually age you a lot.
